Hello! If you are here right know I can assume that you are really frustrated because you are late from work or school because your iPhone alarm didn’t work. On top of that, who on earth will believe you that the iPhone alarm simply didn’t rang. And this makes you even more furious. But hey, point them all here because indeed this may happen from time to time.
Another reason for frustration can be the inability to simply turn off your alarm and yes, it can happen also that sometime your iPhone alarm just cannot be turned off.
The iPhone alarm should ring even the phone is on silent mode or completely turned off so this is something that should not affect the alarm. If you can hear your speaker (call on loud speaker, play music or video with sound) than we’ve just eliminated the suspicion that the speaker might be broken. The only possible remaining cause is a firmware glitch. let’s see what we can do about it.
Once again, make sure that iOS and all your apps are updated.
1. Close all your apps
This is not really a must, but it was reported sometimes that it makes a difference, so just to be sure, close all the open apps. To do this you should double-click the Home button and you will see on the iPhone screen a list with all the apps that were recently opened in the order you’ve opened them. Simply swipe up on each app and it will be totally closed.
If you have a bunch of them, it’s good to know that this operation can be made with two fingers as well to close both apps in the same time.
2. Restart the iPhone
Next step is to force restart the iPhone, but not as a regular restart. Hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time until the iPhone will reboot and you will see the Apple logo on the screen.
At this point the alarm should work normally. You should be able to hear the alarm sound and also to turn it off.
3. Delete and reset the alarms
If the issue is still not solved at point two, in some cases it helps delete all your alarms and set them again. Quick tip: If you have too many alarms on your iPhone, you can delete all of them by using “Siri, delete all alarms” command and also you can set again the alarms by using voice commands. This should save you some time.
Just to be sure that everything is Ok at this point, set an alarm and test it out. See if it’s ringing and if it can be turned off.
